Hi and welcome to my blog, I’m Jenny Crotty and I have been an avid crafter ever since I can remember. I’ve dabbled in fabric crafts like Quilting and Cross Stitching until about 16 years ago when I saw someone ink a stamp and emboss an image on paper and I was instantly hooked. Not long after that I was introduced to Scrapbooking, which completely blew my mind, and I was addicted to all things paper. If there was a cure for my new paper-crafting obsessions I certainly wasn’t looking for it. I was lucky enough to have a very supportive husband who also enjoyed a hobby and knew how important it was for me to be creative. I regularly attended crafty camps and getaways and my thirst for more creative time grew and grew.
In March 2013 I joined Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator with the intention of just getting ordering a few things at a discounted price. As I got more time be creative it quickly escalated when I discovered that I love to share the art of craft. Stampin’ Up! have products that make it easy to make beautiful projects and with their colour coordination it solved my issues with matching products.
I live in Perth Western Australia with my 2 black Kitty Cats named Bella and Lucy. I was lucky enough to be born here and raised my family of two daughters in this gorgeous city. They are young adults now at 23 and 22 years of age and have both since flown the family nest. Recently we lost their Dad, my Husband of 26 years who died suddenly in July 2017. We were devastated and are still coming to terms with his loss.
To lose someone so dear without warning taught me that you need to look after yourself and prioritise to do things that bring you joy. Everyday I try to live this new mantra and one thing that has saved me during this most trying of times is my crafting. Being creative has given me a respite from the challenges of grief and the support from my family, dear friends, Stampin’ Up! team mates and scrapping buddies has been the difference for me, from surviving to living again. I am sincerely grateful and feel blessed every day.
I thank you for stopping by to my online space today and hope I can inspire you to be creative and find joy in your life, in whatever way you can.
